അതിശയന്
ട്രെയ്ലറുകളില് നിന്നും പോസ്റ്ററുകളില് നിന്നും സിനിമയുടെ ഒരു ഏകദേശ രൂപം നിങ്ങള്ക്ക് കിട്ടിക്കാണുമല്ലോ. അതില് നിന്നും പ്രത്യേകിച്ചൊരു വ്യത്യാസമൊന്നുമില്ല ചിത്രത്തിന്. അയല്വാസിയായ ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞന്റെ പരീക്ഷണശാലയില് നിന്നും നായകനായ കുട്ടി അപ്രത്യക്ഷനാകാനുളള ഒരു ലായനി കുടിക്കുന്നു. ചില “reactions” കാരണം കുട്ടി ഭീമാകാരനായി വളരുന്നു; മലയാള സിനിമയിലെ സ്ഥിരം വില്ലന്മാരായ രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാരേയും പൊലീസുകാരേയും കൊല്ലുന്നു. പിന്നെ കിങ് കോങ് മാതിരി സിനിമകളുടെ sentimental അന്ത്യവും. പുറമെ അനാഥക്കുട്ടികള്, അവരെ എടുത്തു വളര്ത്തുന്ന ധൈര്യശാലിയായ പെണ്കുട്ടി, ക്രൂശിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന പത്രപ്രവര്ത്തകര്, ഒരു പളളിയിലച്ഛന് തുടങ്ങിയ ക്ലീഷേകളും, കുറേ വര്ത്തമാനകാല രാഷ്ട്രീയ പരാമര്ശങ്ങളും. കഥ, സംവിധാനം – വിനയന്.
അത്യാവശ്യം ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് സംസാരിക്കാനറിയാവുന്ന മലയാളികളാണ് ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ hypocrite-കള് എന്നെനിക്കു തോന്നിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. മലയാളസിനിമ കാണാന് ക്ഷണിച്ചാല് നമ്മളെ ഇവര് പുച്ഛിച്ചു തളളും. കിയാരോസ്റ്റാമിയും അല്മൊദൊവാറും മറ്റും മാത്രമേ ഇവര് ആസ്വദിക്കൂ എന്ന് നമ്മള് ധരിക്കും. എന്നാല് ‘ധൂം’, ‘കല് ഹൊ ന ഹൊ’ തുടങ്ങിയ ചിത്രങ്ങള് ഇത്തരക്കാര് ആര്ത്തിയോടെ കാണും. ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും പൊട്ട സിനിമകളുണ്ടാക്കുന്ന ബോളിവുഡ് ആണ് ഇവരുടെ നിലവാരമെങ്കിലും മലയാളസിനിമ കണ്ടാല് എന്തോ കുറഞ്ഞു പോകും എന്ന് ധരിക്കുന്നതെന്തിനാണ്! പ്ലേഗ് ബാധിത പ്രദേശത്തേക്ക് ക്ഷണിക്കുന്ന പോലെയാണ് ‘അതിശയന്’ കാണാന് കൂട്ടുവരാന് ക്ഷണിച്ചപ്പോള് എന്റെ പല ചങ്ങാതിമാരും ഓടി മറഞ്ഞത്. ( വിനയന്റെ സംവിധാന ചരിത്രമറിയാമെന്നുളളതുകൊണ്ട് അവരെ അങ്ങിനെയങ്ങ് കുറ്റം പറയാന് പറ്റില്ലെങ്കിലും മലയാളത്തിലാദ്യമായി 3Dയും ഗ്രാഫിക്സും ഒക്കെ ഉള്പ്പെടുത്തി ഒരു സിനിമയിറങ്ങുമ്പോള് അതെങ്ങനെയുണ്ടാവുമെന്ന് ചെറിയൊരു ജിജ്ഞാസ പോലും കാണിക്കാത്തത് കഷ്ടമാണ്. നമ്മുടെ സിനിമാക്കാര് അവരുടെ സ്ഥിരം ചട്ടക്കൂടിനകത്തുനിന്ന് പുറത്തുവരാത്തതിന്റെ ഒരു പ്രധാന കാരണവും ഇതാണ്. )
ഹോളിവുഡ്ഡിന്റെ special effects നിലവാരം ഇവിടെ നമുക്ക് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാനാവില്ലല്ലൊ. ‘Hulk’ എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ നിര്മ്മാണച്ചിലവ് 600 കോടിയില്പരം രൂപയാണ്. അങ്ങനെ നോക്കുമ്പോള് ‘അതിശയനി’ലെ ഗ്രാഫിക്സ് അത്രക്ക് മോശമല്ല.
കുട്ടികള് cute മാത്രമല്ല, തരക്കേടില്ലാതെ അഭിനയിച്ചിട്ടുമുണ്ട്. ചിത്രത്തില് കാവ്യ മാധവന്റെ ഒരു മാദകനൃത്തമുണ്ട്. ഈശ്വരാ!!!
എന്റെ കൂടെ സിനിമ കാണാന് സ്ഥിരം കൂട്ടുവരാറ് ശ്രീനിയാണ്. അവന് തന്നെയാണ് അതിശയന് കാണാനും കൂട്ടുവന്നത്. സിനിമ കഴിഞ്ഞ ഉടനെ ശ്രീനി പറഞ്ഞു: “മലയാള സിനിമയുടെ ഇന്നത്തെ ഈ അവസ്ഥക്ക് കാരണമെന്താണെന്നാറിയാമോ? കണ്ട അണ്ടനും അടകോടനുമൊക്കെ കേറി സംവിധാനം ചെയ്യുന്നതുകൊണ്ടാണ്”. മലയാള സിനിമാക്കാര്ക്ക് ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞന്റെ lab ഇപ്പോഴും കളറുവെളളം നിറച്ച test tube-കളാണ്. കമ്പ്യൂട്ടര് എന്തെങ്കിലുമൊക്കെ പടം കാട്ടാനുളള ഒന്നും. യുക്തി എന്ന സാധനം ഒരിടത്തുമില്ല. കഥ, കഥാപാത്രങ്ങള്, കഥാസന്ദര്ഭങ്ങള് ഇവയെല്ലാം തന്നെ കാലഹരണപ്പെട്ടവയാണ്. പത്തു വയസ്സിനു മുകളിലുളളവര്ക്ക് ഇതു കണ്ടിരിക്കുക പ്രയാസം. എന്നാലും മലയാളത്തില് special effects ഉള്പ്പെടുത്തി ഇത്തരമൊരു ശ്രമം നടത്തി എന്ന ഒരൊറ്റ കാരണം കൊണ്ട് മാത്രം നമുക്ക് വിനയനോടു ക്ഷമിക്കാം; ആ ധൈര്യത്തെ പ്രശംസിക്കാം.

The reviewer seems to have changed the style of blindly giving pastings to the movies. Ofcourse there are certain positives in all creative arts, and we should have an open mind to accept those, not so open that your brain come out ok :-).
We cant compare our movies with Hollywood. But if there is a good storyline with a message in it, audience will take, not just with having special effects. Didnt get an idea about the movie as a whole or the entertainment value of the movie. It would be good if you could add more details like the twist in the story, climax, characters etc. Just few suggestions for improvement.

I don’t wonder, why your friends have ran away when they heard its Vinayan Film. I am completely agreeing to Sreeni too. Reviewer has given a praise for the 3D and graphic works, the director has done in the movie. But I would say, Vinayabn doesn’t deserve that. Reason is simple and Reviewer has mentioned the same. Lacking of “Yukthi”. Vinayan used to come up with so many such things in his film, but he has never done it perfectly. In this film also, he hasn’t done it. While seeing the trailer itself, everyone can guess the story line. I would say, there is nothing to be absorbed from this film. Children may enjoy the film. Still such things are hard to digest for the Malayali audience. Director completely failed to entertain the audience… What I wants to tell Vinayan is, Experiment time is over, be more practical.. Otherwise as Reviewer said in Choota Mumbai review, ഒരഞ്ചുവര്ഷം കഴിയുമ്പോള് ആളുകള് ചോദിക്കും: “വിനയനോ?ആര്?”

“ഓര്ക്കുക…, ഇതൊരു വിനയന് ചിത്രം“ എന്ന താക്കീത് കണ്ടില്ല അല്ലെ?… അല്ലെങ്കിലും, വരാനുള്ളതു വഴീല് തങ്ങില്ല.
പിന്നെ താങ്കളുടെ കൂട്ടുകാരെ പറ്റി ഒന്നേ പറയാനുള്ളൂ..
“ചൂടുവെള്ളത്തില് വീണ പൂച്ച പച്ചവെള്ളം കണ്ടാലും പേടിക്കും”
ഞാന് ഒരുവിധം പടങ്ങള് എല്ലാം കാണുന്ന കൂട്ടത്തിലാണ്. പ്രജ, താണ്ഡവം, വലത്തോട്ടു തിരിഞ്ഞാല് നാലാമത്തെ വീട്, ഒന്നാമന് തുടങ്ങിയ പടങ്ങള് പോലും കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. ;) അതുകൊണ്ട് ബോറു പടങ്ങള് കാണാമെന്ന ആത്മവിശ്വാസവുമുണ്ട്.
പക്ഷെ വിനയന് പടങ്ങള്…. പറ്റില്ല ചങ്ങാതീ…..
ഊമപ്പെണ്ണിനു ഉരിയാടാപയ്യന് കണ്ടിട്ടു ദീനദീനം വിലപിച്ചത് ചരിത്രം. ട്രെയിന് കാത്തുനില്ക്കുമ്പൊഴുള്ള കൊതുകുകടിയില് നിന്നു രക്ഷനേടാന് കയറിയതാ…(അതായിരുന്നു ഭേദം എന്നു പിന്നീടു മനസ്സിലായി)
